Deepak Chopra
When we go through overwhelming or painful experiences, our bodies sometimes hold on to that stress or tension—even when our minds think we’ve “moved on.” This is especially true with experiences of trauma, early developmental experiences, attachment wounds, acute or chronic injury, or long-term chronic stress/burnout.
Working with the body in therapy or as part of a personal movement practice can help us reconnect with the parts of ourselves that were left behind, shut down, or stuck in survival mode.
Your body holds valuable, often subtle information— like tension, movement impulses, or changes in breath—that might not show up in words. By gently tuning into these cues, we can support healing that feels deep, integrated, and real. Through this process, I will support you in beginning to integrate healing through both body and mind, drawing on the intelligence of your nervous system, movement, emotions, and internal parts. Together, we bring attention to the ways your story lives in your posture, sensations, breath, and impulses, and invite new experiences of connection, choice, and regulation.
As a relational therapist, I believe that healing happens through relationships — especially through the relationship between therapist and client. In relational therapy, the focus isn’t just on what’s happening inside but also on how relational patterns show up in the room. At its core, relational therapy is based on the idea that humans are wired for connection, wounds happen in relationships (especially early ones), and therefore healing also needs to happen in relationships. The therapeutic relationship itself becomes a healing microcosm for practicing new ways of being connected, vulnerable, assertive, trusting, moving through repair, and boundary-honoring.
In addition to my relational approach, the way I show up the therapeutic space (and encourage others to as well) is rooted in foundational values of safety/bravery, non-violence, and slowness:
I am committed to creating a culturally sensitive and attuned space that honors and welcomes individuals of all identities, cultural backgrounds, faith traditions, neurotypes, and gender expressions. I strive to cultivate an environment that is gender-affirming, neurodiversity-affirming, and grounded in respect for each person’s unique lived experience.
Everything we do is collaborative and invitational. You’ll always have choice around what we explore and how we go about it. We don’t need to revisit painful memories directly—instead, we work with what your body is telling us now, in the present moment.
Healing is not just something we think about, it’s a conversation between your mind and body. It’s something we feel, embody, and move through together. Simply being present and curious is enough. Lets listen together.
I work with individuals navigating a wide range of experiences and challenges, including:
Personalized guidance and support in your journey of belonging with your body-mind.
A body-oriented, talking therapy that recognizes the importance of the therapist-client relationship, & incorporates the body as an avenue for discovery & healing. My approach builds on traditional psychotherapy & includes the body as central, informed by my training in SP, BMC, polyvagal theory, Parts, Narrative Therapy & EFT. Sessions may include mindful movement, visualization, breathwork, somatic touch & expressive art.
These session offer space for you to explore your own embodied practice, in a supportive container, while somatically connecting to the body systems (nervous, endocrine, fluids, fascia/ligaments, bones, muscles, senses & perception, etc) & to support you in finding a new way of relating to your body-mind that is more present and attuned to support nervous system regulation. Sessions may include gentle movement, yoga, breathwork, visualization, mindfulness, psychoeducation, & somatic touch.
Sound is used as the primary means of facilitating relaxation. You will be invited to lie/sit comfortably, while the instruments create sonic layers of consistent, repetitive & resonant frequencies that wash over you. This helps the brain shift from a state of high-frequency (like beta waves associated with active thinking) to lower frequencies (alpha, theta, or delta waves), which are linked to relaxation, meditation, & deep rest. Instruments: crystal bowls, tuning forks & chimes.
